Use cases are now an accepted method for developing software requirements. However, software errors, budget overruns and delays can still occur because the use case requirements are not validated at an early stage. This talk will present a technique for early simulation and validation of use-case based requirements. The technique is based around an algorithm for automatically transforming use cases into executable form and is accompanied by a methodology (SCASP) that provides guidelines for its use. The method has been piloted on projects at NASA Ames Research Center and Motorola India. |
