In this presentation, I will give an overview of the efforts at Xilinx Research to create innovative new tools and methods for FPGA system design. Our work focuses on two major design technologies. First, how can we enhance the FPGA design flow to allow designers to make objective, early design decisions at the system-level? Second, FPGA reconfiguration has tantalized FPGA developers for more than a decade yet commercial applications have been slow to embrace it. I'll present work from Xilinx Research that is moving reconfiguration towards a mainstream FPGA design technology, including an innovative way to access FPGA bitstreams as an interactive, live file system. |
