port number, MAC address, total frames, total octets, media available status,
operational status, administrative status, media errors, alignment errors,
total errors, giant frames, runt frames, collisions, partitioned state,
Jabbers, polarity (reversed or normal), intruder (haven't found a use
for this yet since we don't have security turned on), frames per second, and
collisions as a percentage of frames sent.
It has a user-configurable update interval, but defaults to 5 minutes.
I've submitted it to Juergen for inclusion in scotty, and it's also
available via ftp from:
ftp://ftp.eng.auburn.edu/pub/doug/hphub.tar.gz
requires scotty-2.0.0 or higher, tcl/tk 7.4/4.0 or higher.
So far it has allowed us to track down one clogged subnet, one bad
10Base-T cable (excessive media errors - was actually a flat ribbon
cable somebody stuck in) and one port with reversed polarity in the
transmit pair.
