I've just built/installed scotty-2.0.1/tkined-1.3.4 on my Linux box, after
tk4.0/tcl7.4 (no patches), and there are a couple of quirks I can't figure
out.
The biggest problem is that when I add charts for SNMP monitoring,
and save the map, only *one* of these charts are running when I reload
the map. Examination of the file shows that it is only leaving one
of the calls to the snmp_monitor.tcl interpreter at the end of the file.
I have been able to hack the file manually, but then if I make
any changes in the editor later it blows my changes out. Ack! The
IP monitoring charts don't have this problem, but maybe that's because
they're not the last lines in the file??
The second question may be obvious to somebody who understands
SNMP...I've only been playing with it for a couple of days. But one
of my strip charts is displaying 'ifOutOctets' for a T1 router. Now,
the MIB-2 description of this object is "The total number of octets
transmitted out of the interface, including framing characters." Does
this mean since the beginning of time? The stripchart seems to be
displaying Octets Per Second, perhaps. What is it really doing?
Thanks...
