On Slackware's SlackELF distribution, there is no link to =
/usr/local/lib/tk4.0/, only /usr/lib/tk4.0. Nothing in the configure =
script complained or checked for it though. Once I moved the executable =
to the troubled system, it started execution, then complained about the =
directory. I have not tried to compile it there yet, but I am guessing =
it will work.

Sorry for the waste of bandwidth on the list. I hope what I found can =
help other Linux users who are having a hard time with the installation.
