It looks rather strange, but it seems that when I make a filter for
syslog's events
I can only hear events, produced by my own syslogd and not from any
other computers.
Description of the environment:
Several linux boxes and with CMU SNMP v2.1.214 package. All linux's
syslogds relay events
to my computer which runs scotty 2.1.7. I have syslogd+tcp-0.5 and it
listens on port 8567/tcp.
As I've written I hear all my local event when I put in the host filter
field only the name
of my computer or leave it blank. If I put there any other name or FQDN
of my computer I got
nothing (though I receive all events from them - I checked syslogd with
telnet).
What's the problem?
Please, any suggestions.
Best wishes
Max
