I've just started using tkined and I'm quite impressed.
I would like to monitor some variables on our DG/UX hosts. The DG AViiON
machines snmpd implements the HP-UNIX MIB and I can stripchart some of
the variables ie:
Descriptor: fileSystemBfree
MIB Module: HP-UNIX
Identifier: 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.1.2.2.1.5
SMI Macro: OBJECT-TYPE
Max. Access: read-only
ASN.1 Syntax: INTEGER
File: /usr/lib/tnm2.1.9/mibs/hp-unix.mib
Which is great, however there are a whole load of variables which
"SNMP-Monitor -> Monitor Variable" will not allow me to monitor. An
example is:
Descriptor: computerSystemFreeSwap
MIB Module: HP-UNIX
Identifier: 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.1.1.12
SMI Macro: OBJECT-TYPE
Max. Access: read-only
ASN.1 Syntax: Unsigned32
File: /usr/lib/tnm2.1.9/mibs/hp-unix.mib
returns the message:
"computerSystemFreeSwap is either not available or of wrong type."
I've tried it on a a whole bunch of other variables and it looks as if
only INTEGER types will work.
I've been through the man pages and the FAQ and I can't find anything
which describes which data types tkined will allow me to monitor.
Alternatively, Can I modify something within the TCL source somewhere
that will allow me to monitor Unsigned32 data types?
I'd be grateful for any info. I couldn't find anything in the FAQ/mail
archives.
