Compiling the cisco mibs, I get no errors other than:
**
CISCO-FLASH-MIB-V1SMI.my: no parent ciscoFlashMIBTrapPrefixTraps for node
ciscoFlashCopyCompletionTrap
**
There's about 40 or so of these types of errors.... all suggesting there is
no parent <x> for node <y> -- though this is *never* for any ordinary OID,
it is *always* a "no parent <x>Traps for node <y>". (notice the *Traps*).
So, I went looking at those mib files, and I note that
ciscoFlashCopyCompletionTrap is defined as:
**
ciscoFlashCopyCompletionTrap TRAP-TYPE
-- Reverse mappable trap
ENTERPRISE ciscoFlashMIBTrapPrefix
VARIABLES {
ciscoFlashCopyStatus }
-- Status
-- mandatory
DESCRIPTION
"A ciscoFlashCopyCompletionTrap is sent at the
completion of a flash copy operation if such a trap
was requested when the operation was initiated."
::= 1
**
-- there is no specific mention of any parent called:
"ciscoFlashMIBTrapPrefixTraps" (as per the error message), though there is
a mention of: "ENTERPRISE ciscoFlashMIBTrapPrefix" (notice it does not end
in "Traps"). Is scotty appending the word "traps" onto the end of it? This
is probably a newbie question, and I'm showing my ignorance here...
thanks..
