Not to slam the graphic interface ( I do after all use it and really
enjoy what it can do),
but has anyone developed a nicer looking interface? A couple of things
I was looking for were:
a. Color, good looking icons (maybe have status info be a blinking dot
by the component instead of the component flashing color, or aselective
alternate icon).
b. Hyperlinked components - Have more of a layered approach to views
where a view can link to another view by clicking on an object.
c. More logging mechanisms - Long term, configurable storage of SNMP
info (viewable in a popup, maybe even graphable) with persistence beyond
the invocation of the app
d. Rules for monitoring variables (if traffic > 50% the alert, etc)
e. More graphics which can be dropped on the screen (lines, squares,
etc)
f. More graphic chart styles (multi-line, pie, etc)
g. Templates for monitoring (a single selection which actually adds
multiple variables to track)
h. Multiple alert/variable watch actions (email, program invoke, dialog
invoke, etc)
Maybe the current version can do some of these, I freely admit my brain
has not delved into the distribution code and methods of customizing
features. Any pointers?
