Hi,
Can someone please help me with the following? I want to run a little
test and see if I can bind a script to a trap event on a port other
than 162. The port that I was going to test was 8162. The reason for trying new port
is that I'm new to Scotty and didn't want to go interferring with port 162.
The code that I have is as follows.
Agent:
%snmp notifier -address <ip address> -port 8162
snmp0
%snmp0 trap coldStart [list [list SNMPv2-MIB!sysContact.0 "Kelly"]]
Manager:
%snmp listener -port 8162
snmp1
%snmp0 bind trap {puts "Trap was sent"}
The problem is that the trap is sent (I think) but I don't get "Trap was sent"
printed out on my x-term. Must I load up MIBs specifically for the port 8162
to get a response to a trap sent to this port or can I only send traps to port
162 specifically.
Thanks in advance
Kieran
