This talk presents a modern view on robot control software systems, trying to find a minimal set of orthogonal software engineering concepts that can cover all aspects of such complex, evolving systems. These concepts are: the Coordination, Configuration, Computation and Communication concerns; three fundamental classes of system complexity; the complementarities of the Object, Component, and Service entities; four fundamental API levels; guidelines for Compositionality; and relevant concepts from "Model-Driven Engineering". |
